On 18 September 2026, the Center for Advanced Materials Application (CEMEA) welcomed a delegation of leading scientists and representatives from major Korean research institutions, including the National Institute of Green Technology (NIGT), the Korean Institute of Rare Metals (KORAM) and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH).
The visit marked an important step in strengthening CEMEA’s cooperation with the Republic of Korea and expanding its research, innovation and industrial partnerships in Asia. The programme featured expert discussions and a tour of CEMEA SAS research facilities, showcasing the Centre’s advanced infrastructure, technological capabilities and current R&D activities.
Talks focused on strategic areas of mutual interest: green technologies, advanced materials, critical and rare materials, energy-related technologies, sustainable industrial solutions and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Building a Platform for Joint Research and Innovation
Both sides confirmed strong interest in developing long-term cooperation through joint research projects, international project proposals, exchange of expertise and new technological solutions. For CEMEA, partnership with leading Korean organisations strengthens its international position and opens links to one of Asia’s most advanced innovation ecosystems.
The visit also creates opportunities beyond academia — connecting research organisations can help bridge European technologies and advanced materials with Korean industrial partners, while offering Slovak and European stakeholders new contacts in Korea.
