The Supervisory Board of the Centre of Excellence for Advanced Materials Application of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava hereby announces the election of members to the Scientific Board of a public research institution (hereinafter referred to as “v. v. i.”).
Name and registered office of the organisation:

(hereinafter referred to as the “Organisation”).
Function specification – nominee for the Scientific Board of CEMEA SAV, v. v. i., must meet the following criteria:
a) be of good repute and possess full legal capacity
b) an internal member must be an employee of the Organisation holding at least the scientific degree of DrSc., PhD., CSc., or an equivalent qualification classified at level IIa or higher, and must be employed by the Organisation for at least half of the established working hours
c) an external member may be a representative of a higher education institution or another research and development organisation or centre in the Slovak Republic. An external member may only be a person holding the academic title of DrSc., PhD., CSc., or their equivalent. One of the external members must be a representative from the business sector or a representative of the users of research results who is not an employee of any public research institution or any university
Number of positions to be filled by election: 2 internal members, 3 external members
List of required information/documents (in accordance with the Election and Nomination Rules for the position of member of the Scientific Board of the v. v. i.)
a) the candidate’s first and last name
b) a brief description of the candidate’s scientific activities
c) number of years of experience
d) the number of publications recorded in the WOS and SCOPUS databases, chapters in monographs, citations, and author certificates
e) number of projects managed (as project manager/or deputy manager)
f) significant awards
g) name of the nominator
Deadline for submission of applications: 9 November 2026 by 12:00 noon; if sent by post, the documents must be delivered to the Organisation’s secretariat by this deadline.
Method of submitting documents: please deliver all documents in person or by post to the Organisation’s secretariat, located in the CEMEA SAV, v. v. i. building at Dúbravská cesta 5817/9, 841 04 Bratislava, 1st floor (Mrs Eliška Vailingová).
Presentation – the candidate’s vision for their role on the Scientific Board must be sent as a PDF by email to the Chair of the Organisation’s Board of Trustees (miroslav.hnatko@savba.sk) for publication on the Organisation’s website.
Place and time of the interview and election: meeting room on the 1st floor at CEMEA SAV, v. v. i., Dúbravská cesta 9, Bratislava. Interviews with candidates will take place on 12 November 2026 at 10:00. The election of members of the Scientific Board will take place in person immediately after the interviews with the candidates.
