From 25 to 27 August 2026, a workshop focused on surface chemistry and nanoscopy of biointerfaces is taking place in the laboratories of CEMEA SAS under the leadership of Mgr. Adriana Hvizdošová Annušová, PhD. The event is organised within the framework of the EU NextGenerationEU through the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Slovak Republic (project No. 09I03-03-V04-00297). It has an international character and is intended for PhD students and early-career researchers, while supporting networking among participants from different institutions.
The workshop opened with a presentation of the project results, which focuses on the study of photoactive interactions and the physicochemical properties of MoOx nanoconjugates embedded in hydrogel matrices. The introductory part provides an overview of the project’s scientific objectives, its interdisciplinary focus, and the potential of the developed photothermal hydrogel composite for future applications in the therapy of challenging tumour diseases. This is followed by a presentation of the measurement methods used in the project: confocal Raman microscopy, optical scanning microscopy in the near field (s-SNOM/nanoFTIR), and AFM force spectroscopy.
Participants have the opportunity to see the laboratory facilities and measurement workplaces where the experimental part of the project is carried out. The practical part of the workshop enables PhD students and young researchers to familiarise themselves with the measurement procedures directly on the instruments and to perform measurements on their own samples. At the same time, the event creates space for new professional contacts and potential future collaborations that can further strengthen research activities and support the development of innovative approaches in the field of nanomaterials for biomedicine.
